An Artificial Intelligence system for gamers.

Latitude, the company behind the AI Dungeon text game, is expanding into a new AI-based gaming platform and calling it Voyage.

With a waiting list and beta closed to the public, it was introduced with several titles that are customizable and would allow people to develop their own games.

The new titles are Medieval Problems, in which the player is a king and will be able to freely order and command advisors and then see the results in the success rate issued by the platform, although it is inspired by Reigns, this new title has a clearer framework of what it is supposed to do, the system seems quite forgiving and more than a little random. On the other hand, we have Pixel This, a party game in which the participant enters a phrase, the AI generates a pixelated image of it, and that image slowly increases in resolution until another player guesses it. A combination of the Dream art app with Pictionary.

Latitude CEO Nick Walton describes Voyage as a natural evolution of Latitude. For the company, "AI games are back to square one," with text adventures reminiscent of Zork or Colossal Cave Adventure. "Now we're moving toward 2D visuals, where there's a certain level of visuals." AI Dungeon, which is included in Voyage, has recently added AI-produced images created with the Pixray image generator.

The ultimate goal is to add game creation tools to Voyage, not just games by the company. "Our long-term vision is to enable creators to make things that are dynamic and alive in a way that existing experiences are not, and also to be able to create things that would have required 100-person studios in the past," Walton says.

"If you try to do something super serious with AI, where people are going to expect to have a high level of consistency, they're going to have a hard time, at least until the technology gets better," Walton says. "But if you embrace that aspect and let it be crazier and wackier, I think you create a fun experience and people delight in those surprises," with this statement we can expect fun, crowd-pleasing games from Voyage.
