An artificial intelligence system that shows the physical appearance of a person in different periods of history.

Knowing what the image of a particular person would look like, during the time of the Roman Empire, medieval times or even in prehistoric times, is possible thanks to artificial intelligence.

AI Time Machine™ is the new feature of the MyHeritage web portal, a site that uses an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system to recreate imaginary avatars, from various images, in different periods of world history.

The result is striking to many users, as they are dazzling and hyper-realistic depicting that person in a variety of subjects from around the world. To achieve this, the platform uses text-to-image technology licensed from Astria. Using various photos of a person, it builds a model with different poses and lighting conditions, different from the original photos. Then, based on a series of predefined themes that the platform already has, it synthesizes the model with motifs from the different themes, creating the photorealistic avatars.

Precisely because it is based on an artificial intelligence system, the web portal yields completely different results for each user, and you even get unequal results if you load a different set of photos of the same person.

AI Time Machine™ is currently in an introductory launch period, so free results are available. During a free promotion, creating a model and generating images for 20 subjects (160 images) is free of charge.

On the other hand, if desired, you can cancel a MyHeritage plan and access more features of the platform.

To obtain the avatars, you only must upload between 10 and 25 photos of the same person, between full body and face, the more varied and of better quality, the better results the platform will provide. The process takes between 30 and 90 minutes.

Photos uploaded without completing the registration are automatically deleted to protect the user's privacy. The application is free and available on both computers and smartphones, and can be accessed at https://www.myheritage.es/ai-time-machine
