Meet Devbook, a search engine designed for programmers

Designed to save programmers time spent on search engines when they need answers to questions, documentation or code.

Devbook is a desktop application that allows developers to search Stack Overflow, official documentation and code on GitHub. It is considered the first step in building a search engine exclusively for developers.

How does it work? Similar to Spotlight on macOS, you press the shortcut to show the program, and a superset will appear at the top of the program in use, search Stack Overflow, get the information or documentation, and you can continue programming, without fully exiting coding.

Devbook is keyboard-controllable, and you can even copy fractions of text without using the mouse. A variety of documentation can be accessed, such as Python, Django, CSS and Javascript. In addition, the creators of the search engine have said that they will continue to add documentation for other languages.

The first raw version of Devbook, featured in December 2020 in Hacker News, was so well received that it was ranked #5 and rated #4 Product of the Day on Product Hunt in April of this year.

Devbook is free and will continue to be free for solo developers, the creators are considering creating a premium version for teams and enterprises.
